WORLD RECORD
If you find yourself in a bookstore or at a friend's house, look for a copy of the 2005 Guinness World Record ® in hard cover, it's the 50th Anniversary addition with a Gold cover. Flip it open to page 42 and look at the photo and caption in the upper left corner of the page under Epic Journeys -- yup, that's us!
In started back in 1999 when we sold our real estate and other belongings, and embarked on what was to be about a one-year, 40,000-mile around the world adventure on two motorcycles. But it turned into much more...

As it happened, we saw incredible sites, met lots of fantastic people, encountered previously unimaginable situations, honed our negotiating skills, put life in a different perspective, and had an experience of a lifetime! It was nearly 4-and-a-half years, 101,322 adventurous miles, 50 countries, and six continents later when we rolled back home to a resounding televised reception on the Today Show.
Although breaking records was not our intention, upon our return we discovered that a record existed for this sort of achievement (57K miles), and we had nearly doubled it.
In February 2004 we got the call and were awarded the prestigious Guinness World Record ® for
Longest Motorcycle Ride (Team).
